Katherine and Peter: Carmel Coastal Beauty!

KP01.jpg

Rain, rain, rain!! We really need it but it can make engagement sessions very challenging. But everything always works out and we found some sun at The Carmelite Monastery and South Carmel Beach.

Katherine and Peter made the drive from San Jose and we got to some shooting...

finally!

KP04.jpg
KP03.jpg

A few wide shots to set the scene.

KP02.jpg

Also some close-ups as well to give more definition. This type of photo shoot is always a bit awkward in the beginning but the reasons why we do this becomes apparent very quickly - one more step closer to being married!!

KP05.jpg
KP06.jpg

Just a few more candid photos before we head to the beach. I asked Katherine if there was any important to the beads wrapped around her wrist and she replied, 'It's my grandmother's necklace'. It's a good thing we asked because as photographers we need to know about this kind of stuff!

KP07.jpg
KP08.jpg

Some photojournalism on the way to the beach - it's so cool along the path.

KP09.jpg

With Point Lobos in the background this beach is really private and really special to be on.

KP10.jpg

Somewhere between low tide and high tide - I already received a soaker shooting the last few frames. We're commited to getting the shot!

KP11.jpg

Enjoy the view and forget about the camera. Special moments always happen.

KP12.jpg

This is Carmel, California. Spectacular landscape.

KP13.jpg

We just made it! The clouds were closing in and success was on our hands.

Thanks again Katherine and Peter for a wonderful day. Here comes the rain again.

Gina and Kevin: The Perfect Carmel Wedding!

Gina01.jpg

Hey Folks!

We hope you are staying warm during this rainy and chilly winter season! As you probably know our wedding season doesn't really begin until spring but we thought we'd get you up to speed and highlight some of our fall 2009 weddings and preview some of the beautiful properties we've been working at lately.

This is the wedding story of Gina and Kevin who are local Monterey folks. They knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding and it begins with getting ready at a gorgeous private property with spectacular Carmel and Pebble Beach views!

Gina02.jpg

A few shots using the back deck. Did we say views?

Gina03.jpg

Rich colors for a fall wedding.

Gina04.jpg

And then some shots at the front of the house. The bouquet features an heirloom from grandma - this is the time to include your heritage!

Gina05.jpg

Our groom Kevin. Totally comfortable in his shoes.

Gina06.jpg
Gina07.jpg

Some pre-wedding shots with immediate family.

A very proud Mom featured here.

Gina08.jpg

Gina and Kevin decided to see each other before the wedding and get the majority of photography done so they could party at Mission Ranch - not a bad idea!

Gina09.jpg

The Carmel Mission is the perfect backdrop for wedding photography. It doesn't take long to get some great shots.

Gina10.jpg
Gina11.jpg

The most beautiful backdrop just next to the fountain. There isn't a better place to have your Catholic ceremony and have photographic history like this!

Gina12.jpg

Choosing the right shoes always matters - nicely done!

Gina13.jpg

A final laugh before getting married. Champagne to follow.

Gina14.jpg

Gina decided to walk halfway down the aisle before meeting up with her mother.

Gina15.jpg

Father John and a few candid moments.

Gina16.jpg
Gina17.jpg

The Carmel Mission is a very public place so you never know when a few strangers might enter into the shot. This archway leads to the back of the church where the signing happens.

Gina18.jpg

It's a reunion! It's always a rare occasion to get the whole family together and we're there to preserve them.

Gina19.jpg

No limo required. The Mission Church really is only steps away from Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch! Gina and Kevin decided to walk to the Mission Ranch instead. Notice the live musicians in the background - the perfect way to celebrate.

Gina20.jpg

Enjoying the sunset at cocktail hour.

Gina21.jpg

Now is definitely time for champagne!

Gina23.jpg

It was a non-stop party from the word go! People love the energy of the Mission Ranch venue and Carmel especially.

Gina22.jpg

We photographed to the very end and captured some great moments for Gina and Kevin and then followed them over to the Carmel Inn for the after party where the Money Band rocked it out until closing time.

We had an amazing experience and wish you guys tons of luck in the future!

Stayed tuned for more...

Deja and Karsten: The Bernardus Lodge Experience!

DK01.jpg

Hey everyone! Well the 2010 wedding season is in full swing once again and we're happy to showcase our latest wedding at the 'Bernardus Lodge Resort' in Carmel Valley, California. This is a premiere wedding venue that offers full services including one of the most beautiful ceremony sites with unforgettable views.

This destination is all about the food, wine and the most privacy you'll ever experience on the Monterey Peninsula.

DK02.jpg

We always arrival early and start documenting details in the hotel suite usually before we meet up with the bride and her girlfriends...

DK03.jpg

...and then grab a few shots of the wedding venue. Details are an important part of the wedding photography experience and set the stage for your wedding story.

DK04.jpg

After some getting ready shots we got into some fun portraiture with Deja. Time goes quickly after doing hair, make-up, dressing, socializing and having a few glasses of champagne!

DK05.jpg

But we get the job done quickly and efficiently and keep everything on schedule.

DK06.jpg

With two pro shooters the coverage is extensive. While Jane was photographing Deja on the way to the ceremony site Kevin was at the ceremony documenting guests arriving - another very important part of the wedding story.

DK11.jpg

The same location, Jane grabs a few fun shots of the girls!

DK12.jpg

Our flower girl is ready and Grandma knows exactly where to go.

DK07.jpg

A few shots of Karsten. His first time marrying - piece of cake!

DK08.jpg

A few posed shots, something totally hilarious going on...

DK09.jpg

...and some casual walking shots. Notice the ringbearer with hands in pockets - the most sophisticated of the bunch!

DK10.jpg

This is one of the most memorable places to get married on the Monterey Peninsula with beautiful mountain views for your guests to enjoy.

DK13.jpg

Simple and elegant. We always recommend dressing up the ceremony site, it makes for some great photography!

DK14.jpg

Last minute conference with players. Do you think you can do this?

No problem.

DK15.jpg

A very emotional time for the groom.

DK16.jpg

Deja's father sang his heart out and had everyone in tears. It was something about how 'he loved her first'.

DK17.jpg
DK18.jpg

Post ceremony - photojournalism is our specialty and everyone is important

to include in the wedding photography. With two photographers, we're ready to

capture the most emotional moments.

DK19.jpg

From totally nervous to totally relieved!

DK20.jpg

Ever wonder what family portraits look like? Mom's and Dad's get photographed first.

DK21.jpg

We sent all of the guests to cocktail and had some quality time with Deja and Karsten.

DK22.jpg

It was only a short photo session but the results were fun and fabulous. They were anxious to get to cocktail and celebrate so we documented on the fly. Carmel Valley has the most beautiful backdrops anywhere!

DK23.jpg

Our clients are getting more and more creative!

DK24.jpg

While the guests wait for the bride and groom the cocktail hour provides some time for socializing and reuniting with family and friends. Because this is a destination wedding place, people travel from all over the world to celebrate wedding events like this one and then spend a couple more days touring the Monterey area. It' s the perfect vacation spot!

DK26.jpg

From getting ready at the beautiful hotel suites to dining at the finest restaurant Bernardus Lodge has everything you need for a totally successful wedding experience. We finished up the photography and sent Deja and Karsten off to cocktail.

If you need to see more of this beautiful property or any other venue then give Jane a call and set up an appointment to view some of our wedding albums.

'Til next time - good luck with your wedding plans!

Welcome to the Jane Morba Photography Blog and to the 2010 wedding season!

After one of our most successful years in 2009 we took some needed time off to

get ourselves ready for the new season and the Monterey Wedding Show is a great Monterey tradition that showcases local vendors for brides near and far.

Our corner booth just before showtime!

Looking at the details, Jane answers questions from a local bride.

We've got a few favorite vendors and the Pasadera Country Club is a premiere venue that you should absolutely see. They have a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting overlooking the golf course and the reception area is full of old world charm and detail. It's only a few minutes outside of Monterey and your family and friends will love the privacy of the 'Pasadera Country Club'!

A few highlights from the show.

Plenty of ideas to get you started.

Our good friend Alana Lucas (far right) at 'Fiore di Amore' was showcasing some beautiful flower arrangements and we got this shot of the entire team. Give Alana a call at:

After checking out the fashion show the event was coming to a close but the 2010 wedding season is just getting started!

The inquiries are coming in and we would love to meet with you and your fiance to view some wedding albums or just come to see who we are and what we do.

Chelsea and Carson: Agricultural History!

CCE12.jpg

Welcome to all of our loyal friends and families! The blog stirs up a lot

of interest and we're excited to post one our latest engagement sessions

featuring Chelsea and Carson. We got access to an incredible local farm in Soledad, CA where Carson's family grows vegetables in the Salinas Valley.

CCE03.jpg

The more rustic the better! Chelsea really liked this location and we got some

fantastic results. Inside the barn? Vintage tractors, trucks and more!

CCE02.jpg

Soon to be married, Chelsea is totally at home in the Ag business.

CCE05.jpg

We couldn't help but get creative - this diptic represents the old and the new!

CCE04.jpg

It gets a bit muddy out there but the backdrops are spectacular.

CCE11.jpg

This was Carson's contemplative pose with the vintage tractor - hmmm, very cool.

CCE06.jpg

Chelsea always has a beautiful smile but we captured this moment inbetween - a picture does tell a thousands words!

CCE09.jpg

Another great moment with Carson - tall, handsome and drives a big pick-up truck!

CCE14.jpg

These are only the highlights of course but you get the idea - vintage tractors everywhere, an incredible museum with a saloon, barber shop and more but we wanted to focus attention on Chelsea and Carson.

CCE10.jpg

A beautiful day for a dynamic couple. We felt so privileged to have been a small part of the family history and we look forward to photographing the awesome wedding party they have planned for next year!
