April 22nd, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- IL Fornaio: New Dinner Menu! |
We've had the incredible opportunity this month to mix with local people, wineries and restaurants... sipping, tasting, socializing and you name it! Francesca at IL Fornaio in Carmel invited a select group of people (of course we were included!!!) to try out their new Italian menu that they will be offering to their customers. |
This is what it looked like! A round table experience and some beautiful food introductions by Chef Gabriel Rodriguez - everything you ever wanted to ask about what's on the plate was answered. Thanks Chef! |
We went through 4 courses and sampled everything on the new menu. Flavor, flavor, and more incredible flavors! |
The Diva Eugenia and Chef Rodriguez. Thanks again guys, what a fantastic night! Don't forget to make your reservation for dinner or perhaps a rehearsal dinner or wedding reception right now before they book up! For more info go www.ilfornaio.com and choose the 'Carmel' location and get started! |

April 14th, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- We're Growing and so are Isa and Jeremiah! |
Amazingjane is expanding into studio portraiture and we're thrilled to be working with Isa and Jeremiah in anticipation of their new baby 'London' due May 11! Isa was totally prepared with multiple dress changes and we got to work right away. Knitting anyone? |
Enter Jeremiah: he's a military guy in the ship building business - Wow! These two are looking forward to many travels around the world... with London of course! |
Along with make-up artist Shannon Woods, we could all feel the intense energy of the unborn baby. |
|
Way more fashionable! Isa is a grahic designer who came with ideas. |
The baby is just about due and we're just about ready to open our new shooting space! Come check our home studio facility. The valley views are awesome and you'll never be short on inspiration - let's get creative! |

April 13th, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Scheid Wine Club Party! |
Somewhere deep in the Cannery Row district lies a wonderful secret waiting to be discovered - Scheid Vineyards tasting room! Located just across from the newly constructed 'InterContinental Hotel', we got the invite to document what is becoming the 'down tempo' mixer of mixers on the Monterey Peninsula. |
Let's take a short walk over to the hotel... |
... open the door and voila!, a video montage of the Monterey Peninsula. Very conceptual. |
Up two floors and what? This party has already started! |
Merlot anyone? This is the place to start. |
Jane started shooting as the wine kicked in. |
|
|
Stefani Cheney on the left. Goddess. Very important Scheid representative. Great supporter of the Jane Morba studio brand. We love you. |
|
Back to the tasting room, we need some more documentation to complete the evening. |
If you're a member, you get the wine and the gift bag. Membership definitely has its' rewards! |
...smell |
... taste |
... pose, eat, have fun!!! |
Hip music, hip wine, hip space. Yup, that's right - it's all here in Cannery Row. |
Uhhh, the wine looks really tempting... we're next in line. |

April 12th, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Bella Whatever! |
Our latest adventure? Quail Lodge asked us to participate in their first annual 'Dog Track and Field' outdoor event where we'll be setting up a booth and offering really affordable doggie portraits! This shot of our baby 'Bella'... she wasn't that excited but we went ahead anyway. |
Now she's really not interested! |

The Carmel Dream Wedding! |
Spring weddings are cool! Holly and Terence could not resist the charm and allure of the 'La Playa' hotel in Carmel, California. Let's go on a short journey of their wedding day and discover all the hidden treasures inside! |
Holly stepped up to the plate. She had fun, she posed, she took direction and kept it all together. It's never easy for a bride but these shots are forever. |
Not everyone was ready but we kept shooting. Great moment Holly! |
Enter Mom. Very classy. Very emotional. Very like Holly! |
Originally from New Jersey, this is Terence. I'm totally ready for this man - whatever you need me to do, I can do it. |
All of his groomsmen were really, really close friends. Two shooters, more coverage. |
Is everything under control? Actually, Kevin scripted this moment but it turned out! |
The 'La Playa' wedding site. Very intimate. |
|
I love you honey. This is stepping up to the plate! |
Not your average cocktail hour. Kevin takes the shot from the second floor dining room while hotel guests enjoy dinner. We never said this was going to be easy. |
Shoes from young to old. Wow! |
Time is running out and it's time to sit down for dinner but we need one more shot of the wedding party. |
We're really proud of this moment with Holly and Terence. |
Holly, close your eyes and soak it up. |
Reception details. |
You guessed it - cake details. |
When you're feeling nervous about the 'First Dance'? Have no fear, the hardest part is behind you - all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other and start a new life together! |
That's a wrap! The 'La Playa Hotel' is unforgettable and so were Holly and Terence! |

April 11th, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Felicia and Jeff: Cannery Row is Cool! |
It all started one day with Felicia and Jeff when they decided that the Monterey Peninsula was the coolest place to get married. Yah, it can be a little cool by the ocean but the 'Carmel Highlands' ocean view is easy to have a cocktail with and it's a nice change from their home that they call Modesto, CA . |
We met at the 'Monterey Beach Hotel' and headed down to the beach. It's never easy getting to know each other on the first date but this photographer/subject relationship is going to be just fine! |
We're thinking she does... |
Off to Cannery Row where the Sardines make it to market. This moment seemed like the right thing to do. |
Ok, so this moment was a bit unusual but what a great moment! |
SEE KEVIN SHOOT! |
THE RESULT! |
We kept walking to the end of the pier and found this great spot. It's getting easier to shoot with Jane and Kevin, much easier! |
This is the signature 'amazingjane' shot. Although we process a lot our photos to look really dynamic, this shot was not altered... that's right folks, in camera. |
As the sign says, 'come in and be yourself' and that's exactly how we shoot. One step at a time and the incredible memories unfold! Thanks to Felicia and Jeff for the great 'after party' at the local pub! |

April 10th, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- The magical flavors of Scheid Vineyards! |
This latest entry features some of our commercial work for Scheid Vineyards located right here in Monterey County. Our good friend Stefani Chaney asked us to photograph their newest wines (and labels!) with a more organic feel so we headed off to the 'Garland Ranch' in Carmel Valley and took to the trails for some cool locations. |
Some incredible wildflowers and excellent Merlot waiting to be discovered. |
As the story goes, you're not really a professional photographer unless you've been ordered to leave the location and that's exactly what happened to us today! We went off the trail just a little bit to find the best colors for this shoot but unfortunately for us it was 'closed for restoration'. After a short time the Park Ranger approached and informed us that we were stepping on a few too many wildflowers so we had to wrap. |
We had open bottles, glasses half full and an apologetic tone... it's time to get out of here! Fortunately, the shoot was successful so we grabbed all four glasses of wine and equipment and headed to a nearby bench to catch our breath! |
After all the turmoil we were feeling creative!!! Before leaving we quickly proceeded to finish the wine. A passing hiker noticed our public indulgence and commented, "I think next time I'm going to bring a bottle of wine and enjoy the scenery". Well, we might be a bit crazy but we always get the shot! |
