Joan and Chris: Point Lobos Magic!

JCEngage01.jpg

Well it seems that Point Lobos has been our most popular spot for engagement sessions this year - our clients request this magical spot regularly and it's easy to see why!

Joan and Chris currently live in Los Angeles and will have their dream destination wedding on the Monterey Peninsula. Let's take a walk inside and see.

JCEngage02.jpg

After dodging a few tourists we came to this beautiful view with rocks included for incredible portraits!

JCEngage03.jpg

When these moments happen, we're ready.

JCEngage04.jpg

Jane captures the softer side of Joan: to us, this picture truly does say a thousand words!

JCEngage05.jpg

Chris seems to have a natural way of enjoying life and appreciating all the beauty that nature has to offer. We love to see couples laugh and play together.

JCEngage06.jpg

After some quality time in the forest we headed to sea level and enjoyed the incredible views from there...

JCEngage07.jpg

... and it usually takes about one hour for an engagement session and that was plenty of time to document the essence of Joan and Chris. Hmmm... should we stay in Carmel for one more night or head back to Los Angeles? Don't worry guys, you'll be married and hanging out on the Monterey Peninsula before you know it.

Ashley and Phil: Destination Wedding Accomplished!

Ashley01.jpg

This latest entry comes direct to you from Kansas City where Ashley and Phil exchanged their vows on the Monterey Peninsula. For them, there's just

something special about this place and Ashley wanted to experience everything that the coast has to offer.

Ashley02.jpg

We started out at the Carmel Highlands Inn for getting ready shots. It's never easy for brides to sit down and be comfortable so how about lounging on the couch instead!

Ashley03.jpg

Take a stroll down the alleyway.... stunning.

AshleyBMaids01.jpg

Cool bridesmaids, cool colors and super stylish!

AshleyBMaids02.jpg
AshleyMom01.jpg

We formed a kind of 'bond' with Ashley's mom Diane who was with her daughter and us every step of the way. This is her only baby so this day was extra special.

APReveal01.jpg

We've been doing the 'reveal' lately which is the term for those who 'see each other' before the wedding. It's not for everyone but Ashley wanted to do several locations and maximize on the amount of photography for the day.

APMonaster01.jpg

Just across from the 'Monastery Beach' is the actual Monastery - a beautiful mission church and an active nunnery!

APMonaster02.jpg
APMonaster03.jpg

This location offers some fantastic architecture so if you're having an outdoor ceremony but want to add a little 'church' into your day then this is the place!

APMonaster04.jpg
APBeach01.jpg

A hop, skip and jump away is 'Monastery Beach'. We had just enough time for a few portraits and then get back to the 'Highlands Inn' for the ceremony.

APBeach02.jpg

It's not all about Ashley, Phil we love you man!

APCeremony01.jpg

Your destination ceremony can be on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Very dramatic and impressive for your friends and family.

APCeremony02.jpg

Last chance to connect with Dad before he gives you away!

APCeremony03.jpg
APCeremony06.jpg
APCeremony05.jpg

A brand new start.

APCocktail02.jpg

Cocktail (and in this case dancing as well!) happens on the lower deck where the ceremony is - the hotel staff removes the chairs, sets up a bar for cocktails and the rest is up to you!!

APCocktail01.jpg
APCocktail03.jpg

First dance on the deck was really cool!

APCocktail04.jpg
APCannery01.jpg

After some family portraits we headed off to Cannery Row where Ashley and Phil had their reception booked at the Taste of Monterey.

First stop: old buildings and doorways!

APCannery02.jpg

Second stop: some action in the middle of the street.

APCannery03.jpg

So as you can see this was a very busy day but when planned right you can do multiple locations and still make it for dinner on time! We actually joined Ashley, Phil and their families for dinner, watched a cool slideshow and had some great wine at the end of the night.

Thanks again guys for making us your ultimate destination wedding photographer!

Vanessa and John's Excellent Holman Ranch Wedding!

VJBeach02.jpg

It's hard to believe that it's been over a month since our last BLOG entry but we took a little time for ourselves in the middle of our wedding season to recharge and get ready for the remaining 15 events we have left! So for those new to our BLOG we hope that you had a chance to dig into the archives and get up to speed with

Jane Morba Photography - and for those loyal fans, let's get this train going again!

You're going to love some of the new events we have to feature for August, September, October and new bookings for November.

Vanessa wanted her wedding to have the best of both worlds: cooler temperatures and great portraits at Monastery beach in Carmel and then bask in the sun down in Carmel Valley at the 'Holman Ranch' for the ultimate summer party!

VJBeach08.jpg

This Canadian girl was totally excited to get to the beach, do some fun portraits and see John for the first time and show off her fantastic hour glass dress!

VJBeach04.jpg

We took a couple of shots and then had her face the ocean for the 'Reveal'.

VJBeach05.jpg

At last!

VJBeach06.jpg

Vanessa brought a few accessories to spice up the shoot!

VJBeach07.jpg

These guys came all the way from Calgary, Alberta Canada to have their dream wedding! We were told that they could have chosen any place in the world (seriously!) to get married but the Monterey Peninsula was top of the list for their destination wedding with friends and family.

VJBeach09.jpg

Wedding party in tow, why not make it really special!

VJHolman05.jpg

Time to head to wine country and get the ceremony started.

VJHolman01.jpg

A few final portraits in the vineyard at 'Holman Ranch'.

VJHolman02.jpg

Holman Ranch has been totally renovated by some very caring and amazing people. In our opinion this venue is one of the most special places to get married on the Monterey Peninsula. Give 'Hunter' a call to do a site inspection - you won't regret it!

VJHolman04.jpg

With only minutes to spare before the guests arrive, Vanessa requested some portraits with the mountains as a backdrop.

VJKevinWork.jpg

Kevin working around the ceremony site.

VJHolman03.jpg

Picture yourself here! It really is the perfect backdrop!

VJCeremony01.jpg

The 'getting ready' room is rustic and full of charm - this is one of Carmel Valley's historic landmarks.

VJCeremony02.jpg

The guests have arrived, the musicians are playing and it's time get married.

VJCeremony03.jpg
VJCeremony04.jpg
VJPortraits01.jpg

As photographers we rarely show family portraits on our websites or blogs so we wanted to give everyone a preview of what we do for a living. Family portraits are very important to us and we understand how important they are to you!

VJRecep01.jpg

Dinner and reception in the courtyard - a very special place to connect with family and friends.

VJRecep02.jpg

World travelers.

VJRecep03.jpg

Uhhhh, Vanessa, over here - this doorway is so cool, it'll just take a minute or so and then you can enjoy the rest of what 'Michael's Catering' has to offer!

VJRecep06.jpg

Ok, so we're only going to do this one time OK?

VJRecep07.jpg

After some fun and thoughtful toasting, Vanessa and John were the first ones to go to the barn to get the party started. Everybody, grab your wine and show them some love!

VJRecep09.jpg

This is the most romantic spot for a first dance.

VJRecep11.jpg
VJRecep12.jpg

The sunsets are unbelievable and we wanted to give this part of the day a more 'Hollywood' feel - it was really special for these guys and totally relaxing as well.

VJRecep13.jpg

Bring on the Bentley James! End of the night and this wedding couple took off in style. Congratulations to Vanessa and John! You guys had the perfect wedding on the Monterey Peninsula!

Stay tuned, more to come really soon.
